secretary who unfortunately no longer belongs to our board.

The Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of 16th November 2017 were approved unanimously

and signed by the President Wolfgang Fischer and Vice President Antonio Perez Albiñana.

Item 3) Report on Membership.

The President reported that Association membership at the 2018 AGM totalled 287. He again

reiterated the necessity for clear communication from the members when changing address,

leaving the urbanisation or changing e-mail addresses.

New Association members are welcome and membership is free. The members present were asked

to encourage non-member friends and neighbours, who own property and/or or live in the

Urbanisation, to enrol in the Association and to advise the Committee of any known changes in

ownership of dwellings.

Item 4) Treasurers report

Richard Kent gave a detailed breakdown of the Accounts of last year and noted that the budget for

the coming year has also been submitted. An increase in the mailbox rent as from 2019 to € 30.00

A suggestion has been made to put the existing money into a private security company that will

Item 5) Neighbourhood Watch.

• The e-mail address remains the same: aeberhardtaltea@gmail.com

• New signs have been made by Town Hall and will be installed soon.

• The NHW system is linked to Policia Local, Guardia Civil and other urbanizations locally and

nationally. But NHW are not automatically informed by Policia Local or Guardia Civil about any

break-ins, as quite often it is part of an on-going Police enquiry. Members were requested to inform

NHW immediately when they hear of any robberies or burglaries so that the information can be

passed on through “the system”.

• Our Urbanization experienced 8 break-ins during the year, 6 less than last year. Most

burglaries are pre-planned by thieves, who “stake out” a property before attempting to rob it.

Please be aware of anything suspicious at all and report it. A member from the floor suggested that

even when informed the officers do not come. Recommendation from the board is simply to ask for

the name of the officer and their number and invariably they will respond immediately. However –

keep the record of their name and number.

• It is important to share information with the Neighborhood Watch, which Annetta hopes you all

do via her e-mail.

• Cameras on the entry of Avenida Principal are connected and recorded. It was not sure,

whether the cameras in Altea Hills are also connected to Policia Local and recorded.

• There is also a private neighbour’s group that utilizses a What’s App Application. This group

has been working now for more than one year and has been successful in catching at least one set

of thieves, that we are able confirm. It is administered by Ellis De Jong and you can join by

messaging her on 667 236 628 and she will put you in the group. IT IS NOT A CHAT GROUP. It is

simply to notify our neighbor’s of ANY suspicious activity that you may see.

• Question from the floor, why we don’t have any NHW Stickers to put on the Door. The

Association will create new stickers and provide it to all Members.

Item 6) President's Report on activities during the past year

The President used a Power Point presentation to highlight the current and future issues concerning

the Association and present the Agenda for the meeting.

A summary of activities in the year were;

• Activities necessary to change the Buzon locations and lockers from Buzon number into Street

Name and House Number. That mega project was planed and performed by the Vecinos Board, well

lead by our Secretary, and finally closed up on time. The President thanked all involved helpers for

that great job.

• Due to water shortage, Apobersa disconnected the water supply in the summer during the

night for about a week. The Association complained to the Town Hall, after which the water was

again available. Terry Miles said that the law states that we should be provided 7/24 at all time

with potable water. The Association is in contact with the Town Hall in order to prevent further

disconnections. Merilyn Miles informed, that it is per Law, that everybody is entitled to potable

water at all times. The Association needs to make this clear to the town hall, or else we may have

the to involve an Ombudsman. The Association agreed to take note of the point.

• There have been regular meetings of Vecinos Board members during the year with

representatives of Altea Town Hall in order to discuss problems with our urbanisation.

• We have now a solution for your garden waste. The town hall has set up a place where you

can unload the waste for free. It is “Publica de Desarrollo Municipal” at “Partida Cap Blanc 100” in

Altea. Because of this, the Association will not financially support your green garden container as

from Dec. 1st. 2018. All members will be notified about this in our next Newsletter.

• It is still possible to ring the Town hall and have “large items” like fridges. furniture etc.

removed as well for free– the number to call is 966 881 903.

• With respect to the rubbish bins, members were advised to always keep the lid closed so that

stray cats would not tear the plastic bags. In addition, everyone should ensure that the garbage is

placed in the container and not next to the container.

• The president thanked our web master Terry Miles for the professional care of the association

website and asked the members to look at our web page regularly and to take note of the

information displayed therein.

• The Annual Summer Party took place in 2018 at Jardin Meliton. The guests enjoyed good food,

wine and music during the evening. The President thanked all helpers for their contribution to

making the evening a success.

Item 7) Planing for next Year.

• Since there is currently no fixed association secretary, the board intends to divide the task

amongst all board members. A plan is being prepared.

• Ensuring the supply of drinking water over Apobersa continues to be discussed with the Town

Hall. A test of the water quality by an independent laboratory has been given by the association.

• NHW Stickers to put on the Door will be provided by the Association.

• The cooperation with the Town Hall will be continued and intensified.

• Anne Vandeborne informed about a dangerous traffic corner: on Avenida Principal on corner

C/Petuña and C/Mimosa a traffic mirror is broken and a second mirror is missing asa result of a

traffic accident. The Association will send out an Instancia to the Town hall.

• Membership Summer Party in 2019 will be organized for end of June.

A question was raised from the floor, why we don’t invite the town hall to our Annual general

meeting: The president answered, that the board has regular meetings during the year with the

town hall.

There being no other business the President thanked the members for attending and closed the

meeting 8:13pm.

There followed refreshments and drinks at the restaurant for the members attending.
