MINUTES OF DIRECTORS MEETING. Meeting held on Tuesday 10 October 2017 - 12.00 pm at Don Cayo Golf.

Present: Antonio Perez Albiñana (Vice President ES), Richard Kent (Treasurer), Matthew King (Secretary), Terry Miles (Web coordinator), Willem Van Oorde, Apologies for absence –Wolfgang Fischer (President), Emil Apeldoorn, John Schimell, Sonata Lungmus, Annetta Eberhardt (NHW coordinator), 1). The Minutes of meeting held 07/08/2017 were approved. 2. Treasurers Report. 3. Secretary’s Report. MK reported that there were now 291 members. MK still to implement new members application form devised and advised by TM. 4. Vecinos Website. Nothing to report – Awaiting Secretary’s signature on new system for membership form. 5. NHW update. Annetta not present – No report 6. Other business. a)/b).The Post Boxes are cause for concern as it looks like the Correos are effectively “wiping their hands” of the problem and handing it over to us – the Association - to reorganise. It was discussed as to the legality of this as the Correos are responsible to deliver mail. Several “options” have been proposed but the Correos do not appear to be interested in any of them. Apobersa have offered their post boxes to the Association – but without a full list of all the residents in the area – the organisation of the boxes would be a major job for us. RK reminded everyone that our complete revenue comes from these boxes and without it there would be no free annual dinner. APA. will write a letter to Correos asking exactly what they require us to do now so that we can act on something rather than “speculation”. It was also suggested by W.V.O. that maybe the appointment of a lawyer to investigate the legality of this would be a worthwhile process. RK reported that the door had been repaired but maybe a quote was needed to strengthen the frame with steel and bolts either side. This is possibly dependant on the outcome of the above Post-box situation. c). It was noted that Beatrice our contact in the Ayuntamiento has left her position and been replaced with Maria Lavios. The board awaits with anticipation to see if any of the local problems i.e. street cleaning, rubbish removal will be addressed after 10 months of not being carried out correctly. d). Lack of Basura Collection. The new system is generally felt to be failing. The secretary has received 2 letters from the former secretary James Standen regarding non collected waste and deposited “household items” at the bins – who suggested that the new system wasn’t working and was not adequate. The Committee realises this and an Instancia has been raised but it was decided that another should be taken out to emphasise our disgust at the way the system is failing the residents.
