MINUTES OF DIRECTORS MEETING. Meeting held on MONDAY 13th NOVEMBER 2017 – 11.30am at Don Cayo Golf. Present: Wolfgang Fischer (President), Antonio Perez Albiñana (Vice President ES), Richard Kent (Treasurer), Matthew King (Secretary), Terry Miles (Web coordinator), Annetta Eberhardt (NHW coordinator), John Schimell, Willem Van Oorde, Apologies for absence –Emil Apeldoorn, Sonata Lungmus, 1). The Minutes of meeting held 10/10/2017 were approved. 2. Treasurers Report. 3. Secretary’s Report. MK reported that there were now 293members. We are orking on new form for new members devised and advised by TM (Meeting Weds 15th November to complete). To date 54 confirmed members to join The AGM and another 30 declines so generally a good response to e-mails. MK raised concern about “who actually receives the mails” and was advised by TM that at the moment Russians make up the most “hits” on the website followed closely by those from Scandinavian countries (who also spend the majority of time perusing the web-site). 4. Vecinos Website. Working well and getting “regular hits” see Secretaries report above. 5. NHW update. Annetta reported that there 13 “Alertas” this year to the police for Burglaries ibn the area as opposed to 15 from the previous year so a good result. Posters and signs have been once again promised by the new Consejal Marie Lavios – we wait to see what happens now and discuss again at the next meeting. A confusion existed between a reported break-in last week when AE and MK were both notified of the Burglary. AE is now wholly responsible for the communication and information of the break-ins albeit that there is also a What’s App group operating with immediate response to “strange or unusual” occurrences in the neighbourhood. WF felt that quite often the conversations were “frivolous” on the What’s App group. MK pointed out that he never received any communication from AF regarding any break-ins via e-mail (much like the membership secretaries problems with e-mailing on Google the same must be for bulk mail with the NHW secretary), therefore many may not receive the warnings from NHW. MK to produce a Poster/Note for What’s App group for Vecinos Page to run alongside but separately to the NHW. 6. Other business. a). Machinery on The Golf Course. A member who lives on the Golf Course has asked if it is necessary to start work with machines, blowers, grass cutters at 7.00am and could this be moved to 8.00am. WF was “pretty sure” that the by-law states this and JS also confirmed that on previous occasions requests had been made to start later at 8.00 from several residents around the Golf Course. It was decided that rather than raise an Instancia immediately – MK would write to the Golf Club and ask if this time keeping could be adhered to. In the second instant an Instancia would be raised by WF. b). Rubbish and Street Cleaning. Two weeks ago WF and MK had a meeting with the new Consejal and drove her around the Marie Lavios and drove her around the area looking at the disgusting road and rubbish areas which at the time were appalling and overflowing. Since that time the rubbish collections have been more frequent and the Main Roads have been cleaned. Work appears to have slowed down now but many minor roads are still affected by lack of cleaning. WF will raise an Instancia for these smaller roads. She said she would do “the best she could to improve the situation and after 10 months – the roads look a little better once more. She has also said that she will look into the Ayuntamiento making larger pore permanent signs to go around one bin in several languages in order for people to understand where and how to throw away not only their household rubbish but sofas and garden waste too. It was also stressed that if anyone saw any person throwing rubbish illegally to carefully note their vehicle registration with a photo and pass it on to a member of the board c). Cats. It was brought to a neighbour’s attention that whilst street cleaning the area, the bodies of 15 cats had been found in undergrowth in Avenida Bernia. This can only be the result of someone killing/poisoning the cats. The laying down of Poison in Spain is subject to tough rules and there is a department of the Guardia Civil called SEPRONA who take this type of behaviour very seriously. MK to contact with them regarding the findings above. d). Postboxes. This is an ongoing situation. Paco Alcarez, who deals with the administration of the post boxes has presented us with a list (sadly not entirely up to date) with the names and the locations of all the people in our Buzon on Avda Principal. The Correos are under a lot of pressure from Madrid to save on ALL areas “out of town” like our urbanisations. WF has been in talks with other local “smaller” urbanisations to fund out how they carry out receiving mail. An option suggested by the Correos is to keep all mail in Altea for 15 days and if not collected – returned to sender. This will not only be impractical for the post office but also for anyone receiving important local post and not here permanently. Work in Progress e). Road Calming. TM said that there has been little or no change in the noise levels or speed of traffic on the Avenida Principal. He suggested that as there were now “very few signs” denoting speed limits along the road, that it would be a good idea to ask the Ayuntamiento to purchase and put up more signs for 40kph (speed limit in Avenida Principal) and where there are Bumps and “blind corners” put this limit to 20kph. The general view was that this was a good idea and we would ask the Maria Lavios at the next meeting with her to see if the Ayuntamiento would fund it. f) Power-point presentation prepared for the AGM this Thursday 16th. AGM to be presented by WF and AP, in English and Spanish this year after complaints by members last year. Questions to be presented by the membership at the end of the meeting, followed by wine and nibbles.
