MINUTES OF DIRECTORS MEETING. Meeting held on MONDAY 11th DECEMBER 2017 – 12.00PM at Don Cayo Golf. Present: Wolfgang Fischer (President), Antonio Perez Albiñana (Vice President ES), Richard Kent (Treasurer), Matthew King (Secretary), Terry Miles (Web coordinator), Annetta Eberhardt (NHW coordinator), John Schimell, Willem Van Oorde, Apologies for absence – Javier Gomez Devisa 1). The Minutes of meeting held 13/11/2017 were approved. 2. Treasurers Report. RK reported that 600.00 was spent on the AGM, another 318.00 once again on the Lights (which were still not working yesterday) and 685 on the new “fortified door” to the Buzones, leaving the current account low for this time of year. 3. Secretary’s Report. MK reported that there were still 293members and waiting for 2 more members to join making it a near 300 members. However as MK only receives “Limited returns” to his e-mails he was unsure as to how many members we actually have – a continued problem. He will try and get members to reply in his “Christmas Newsletter”. 4. Vecinos Website. Working well and getting “regular hits” TM unwell so updates will be carried out in the next week once recovered.. 5. NHW update. Annetta reported that the website had been updated – but pointed out that there should be NO correlation between the work that she did as the NHW to the proposed visit by the N332 Facebook Group who may attend in the new year to talk about general security and what to do in emergencies generally. MK reported that they needed a minimum of 50 people to attend as they come from Torrevieja – the general consensus was that it was a good idea but that even with the other “Local Associations” involved the meeting would not receive 50 people. MK to write it in the December News Letter, for an appointment in March (to be agreed with N332). 6. Other business. a). It was proposed that the AGM for 2018 be held on a Thursday again but at an earlier time of 18.30 for 19.00 start – this was thought to be more difficult for some of the board but was agreed. b). At the AGM WF had talked to Jim Standen the past secretary of the association and suggested he might like to use his “experience” as a Vocal on the committee again – Jim has accepted and will appear as a Vocal when he is able to do so. c). Post Boxes. There was another Robbery to the Buzones on 23rd November during the night. The door was smashed down again and a new door with 2 locks has been fitted. WF, JG, RK, & APA have been working in meetings with the Correos, the Ayuntamiento and other Urbanisation (Ulrika, Altea 2, and Paradiso) to resolve the continuing problems of the Post Boxes around the Sierras and these other urbanisations. Marie Lavios has also been involved and we can hope that this may bring some resolution to the problems with the Correos for the future of the Mail Service to the area. On another note The Insurance of the post boxes was to be investigated by APA as we did not know exactly what is covered under the scheme and what “excess” would be payable as the last door replacement (as with the one before) was not insignificant. MK is to write to Correos and put his personal address on the top of the letter heading to appease the Correos as they want to cancel the delivery of mail (very small) to our Box as there is no address. There being no other business the President thanked everyone for their help and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Healthy Happy New Year.
