MINUTES OF DIRECTORS MEETING.
Meeting held on TUESDAY 24thth APRIL 2018 – 12.45 PM at Don Cayo Golf.
Present: Wolfgang Fischer (President), Richard Kent (Treasurer), Matthew King
(Secretary), Terry Miles (Web coordinator), Annetta Eberhardt (NHW
coordinator), Emil Apeldoorn, Javier Gomez Devisa,
Apologies for absence : Antonio Perez Albiñana (Vice President ES), John Schimell,
Willem Van Oorde, James Standen,
1). The Minutes of meeting held 23/03/2018 were approved.
2. Treasurers Report.
RK advised the Board that the “free Banking” previously offered by Bankia was no
Longer an option and that there would be a new charge of 15Euros a quarter, or
60Euros a Year
3. Secretary’s Report.
MK reported that he is still receiving messages from “concerned“ Buzon owners
regarding their mail and what may happen. A Letter was sent out to Non Sierra
Altea 1 residents approx. 3 weeks ago telling them again that they were now
going to be Buzon less and that Marie Lavios at The Ayuntamiento was dealing
with it along with Kees Hilgers who MK has passed on the e-mail addresses that
he has, too. AVSA now has 255members.
AE said that the letters sent out by The Secretary were not of a “suitable quality”in
other languages, and MK said that the letters were translated by Google, apart
from the German which was translated by WF. However MK had re-translated
those mails by WF and in English this did not have the same meaning as the
original letter. In resolution it was decided that letters would be sent out in
English and Spanish corrected by either Javi or Antonio, prior to being sent out.
4. Vecinos Website.
Working well and getting “regular hits”. TM updating the website regularly. Required
someone to write a passage for the Vecinos Web Page regarding “How to obtain a
Buzon” MK and RK fought for this task and RK won!!!
WF asked for the information for the next Spanish course run by Rosetta Stone to be
put on the Web Page – TM said he would gladly do it, if provided with the
information. WF to supply that information.
5. NHW update.
Street signs to be installed over old ones but also in Valenciano.
AE assured all that this was still a work in progress and would be ready “soon”. AE
reported that the number of Burglaries for the area was down and that there had
only been 2 Burglaries in Las Galeras in the last weeks and only in empty houses
where the owners had not yet returned.
6. Other business.
1). POST BOXES. MK has managed to contact the majority of Buzon owners,
however there are approximately 15 who have not collected their mail for a
considerable time and could have moved or died or maybe not yet returned –
some have not bothered to reply - a list will be prepared of unused boxes.
Despite cancelling the letters in other languages MK felt that we had gained
members from other denominations – 2 Dutch people and 2 Russians to the
Association who previously did not understand the letters in English and Spanish.
TM reported that eventually he had sourced a lock (101) the same as the existing
one and that so far it would be around 15 euros a lock to buy. He was awaiting
further contact with suppliers but MK and TM are going to a lock shop in Altea to
look at the option of buying from them this afternoon and TM will report back on
the findings. We must have orders placed in the next few weeks before the
“Spanish Holiday system “Kicks in”. (MK and TM have been to locksmith in Altea
and he will get back to T.M. tomorrow).
MK suggested that we discuss the “administration” of the boxes with Paco Alcarez as
900euros is quite a lot for now only 170 boxes. WF suggested we discuss with
P.A. about paying per Buzon per annum a suggested figure of 2.50 euros to 3
euros per box rather than the higher annual fee. RK and MK along with APA to
arrange a meeting with Paco Alcaraz to discuss buzons and fees and those who
haven’t replied to the letters.
2). INSTANCIAS: WF presented the list of Outstanding Instancias and although one
road sign had been completed - it had been put on the wrong side of the road.
3). SUMMER PARTY: WF asked in the case of no –one else being able to do it –
would Matt King be able to do The Ball again…..MK to discuss with J.S. the
possibility. WF wanted everything to be in place regarding the Ball before the next
meeting of the Committee on the 21st May.
