Website: www.avsa.tigbos.com
email: avsavecinos@gmail.com
AGENDA for meeting MONDAY 11th March 2019 @ 11.00 am - Meliton
Minutes of Director’s Meeting
at Meliton, Altea la Vella 11th March 2019.
The Meeting took place at Meliton in Altea la Vella at 11.00 attended by the
Directors of the Board of the Asociación:
Wolfgang Fischer (President), Antonio Perez Albiñana (Vice President), Richard
Kent (Treasurer), Annette Eberhardt (NHW).
Willem van Oorde (Minutes), Ismael Fernandez (membership), Toni Canet
(Instancias), Boudewijn Overduin (Newsletter), Anne Vanderborne and Francisco
Jerry Gomis (Vocal).
It was noted, again that Terry Miles continued to be the webmaster but would not
attend meetings.
The meeting was conducted in English and Annette translated when necessary.
Welcome and introduction by the President
The President, Wolfgang Fischer, welcomed the attendees and responded to the
question raised as to why the meetings could not be held in the golf club. It was
noted that the golf club catering and meeting facilities were still not fully functional
but that the President of the club will be asked if it would be possible to have a
meeting room.
Item 1) Minutes of last meeting
Richard stated that a point in the minutes that referred to the post box room lighting
has been dealt with - namely no need to add a phot electric array - a thorough clean
looked as though it was was sufficient to keep it working.
The minutes were approved.
Item 2) Treasurer’s report
Cleaner was paid Euro 375- for the year.
Buzones appear to be working well - a few small problems only.
Two bottles of wine given to Ma Angeles at the gestoria - Paco Alcaraz – who
continue to administer the buzones.
Currently 198 buzones. Renters of 28 boxes still need to collect keys. It was
decided to wait till summer to see if they turn up.
Maria Angeles will send reminder email.
There are 10 new residents who have taken buzones.
87 renters will pay by direct debit - this month.
Richard has collected and deposited Euro 1000- for cost of key and for rental.
If someone interested in a buzon, they need to go to Paco/Maria Angeles. Condition
is they have to have property in the Sierra de Altea and the Sierra Golf. Rental is
Euro 30 per annum.
Several ways of paying: (note we are trying to get away from the old method of
paying cash at the office of the gestoria).
Therefore: either pay directly to the Vecinos bank account via bank transfer, or -
preferably, go to Paco Alcaraz/Maria Angeles and give them the authority to direct
debit the individual bank accounts on a yearly basis.
This information will be put into the next news-letter.
Item 3) Secretaries report
Ismael said he had received a few mails - main issue seems to be the caterpillars in
the pine trees. Members asking for advice. Richard said that this issue had come up
several years ago. We were not able to do anything as there were access problems
to peopl’s houses. It was suggested that one should go to the Ayuntamiento.
However, it appears they cannot/will not do anything. Use hair spray was one
suggestion. Cut/trim the pines seems the best way - this also reduces fire hazard.
There were two new members. This brings total membership up to 284.
Ismael noted that new members were asking him how to get registered with the
Association. Anne said that he should give her their details and she would send a
“welcome” mail.
Item 4) Webpage
No update - Terry Miles still active and willing to help. He does not want to be on the
board and attend meetings. It was noted that it was not possible to open files with
photos. Also noted that Terry will update the web page with any relevant
news/information that the board sends him.
Item 5) NHW
All quiet, according to Annette. Last recorded incident was in December.
Still waiting for new signs. They are, apparently, ready - just waiting for Ayuntamiento
to install.
Our Association is now connected with Urb. Monte Molar.
We will soon get some NHW folders and stickers (to put on doors/gates etc)
Item 6) Instancias
1. This topic was of two parts - instancias covering – mainly – the state of the
roads, secondly, the water situation and resulting risk of fires.
2. Toni talked about the recent meeting at the town hall. In attendance were Maria
Labios and Vicente (from the Altea Town Hall) and Toni, Antonio, Annette and
Richard from the committee.
3. The open instancias regarding the state of the roads was brought to the
attention of the Town Hall. After the meeting the Vecinos team drove to all the
affected streets and took photos. Toni made a list of the streets and Annette made
the photos. The list of street names is with the Town Hall.
4. The water situation. The meeting was not productive because the Town Hall
attendees were not the right people. No minutes were taken at the meeting.
5. Toni was able to get the names of the right people. Important to have the
manager responsible for the department (Water) AND an engineer. Goal now is to
set up a new meeting with the appropriate people.
6. Toni explained about the report from Terry Miles on the water problem - namely
that Aporbersa, who have a duty to maintain water supplies, instead cutting off
supply in times of shortage, rather than taking water from the grid - which Aporbersa
would have to pay for. When water starts flowing again there are air blockages and
damage to pipes etc. Therefore, purpose of next meeting is to pressure the
Ayuntamiento to, in turn, pressure the Aporbersa. It is the duty of the Town Hall to
provide drinking water. This is law.
Toni was very concerned about the resultant fire risk - dry conditions from lack of
rain will lead to heightened danger.
It was decided to deal with the fire issue AFTER progress made on the water issue.
Decision made to:
Get a Spanish (formal) translation of the Terry document (which states very
clearly the duties of the Town hall and also suggestions how to solve the problems
with blocked pipes etc.
This translation to be handed out this week for editing and, if necessary,
toning down.
To hold an extraordinary meeting Thursday 21st 11.00 at Meliton to sign off
the document, agree next steps. Only fluent Spanish speakers should attend the
meeting.
Arrange further meeting with Town Hall - Toni emphasized need for Spanish
members of our board to be present. Use the translated document to pressure the
Town Hall to take the water situation with Aporbersa seriously.
At the same meeting the subject of fire risks should be mentioned, but not as a
major topic for the meeting.
Item 7) Other points
a and b) - Town hall meeting and Town Hall situation see above – already
discussed
c) Summer party. To be held 28th June – 7 pm – Meliton.
