Minutes of Committee Members Meeting
Altea la Vella 02nd August 2021.
The Meeting took place at the Altea Golf and Country Club at 11.30 attended by the
members of the committee of the Asociación:
Present were: Annette Eberhardt (interim president), Richard Kent, Anne Vanderborne.
Wolfgang Fischer, Boudewijn Overduin. Angela Herran, Lisa Andreetti, Ismael Fernandez,
Toni Canet, Willem van Oorde.
Apologies for absence: Francisco Jerry Gomis.
The meeting was conducted in English.
1. Minutes of Meeting of 5th July 2021 were approved
2. Lisa and Angela deemed to be guest members until officially approved at the
AGM. It was agreed that their official roles would then be, respectively, the cat program
and translator of committee documents (French/Spanish/English)
3. Treasurer’s Report:
a. Current Account: There is now only one account.
b. 15 buzones currently unpaid for. Richard placing a chaser letter in the respective
boxes. 5 boxes contain a stack of mail, suggesting that the owners are/have been absent
for a long period of time. The other boxes are empty, suggesting possibly that the owners
have departed the area. There are three instances of keys being returned and the deposit
being repaid.
4. Secretary’s Report:
a. There are currently 305 members. This represents a net change of 3 from the
previous meeting- being 4 new and one departed, assumed deceased - (Wolfgang will
send details of “deceased” member to Anne). Anne will update the official membership
list accordingly
b. A request had been received regarding the hiring of mail boxes by individuals who
are located outside of the residential area covered by the Association. This is not
permitted according to an arrangement/agreement with the Correos. Should committee
members receive such requests, these should be forwarded to Richard.
5. Neighbourhood Watch and website.
It was reported that there have been 4 recent break-ins. The committee again urges all
members to remain watchful and to inform the Neighbourhood Watch – by mail - of
details relating to the break-ins.
6. Instancias:
An asphalt issue on Calle Canna has been reported twice. Wolfgang continues to chase
the Ayuntamiento, who are “taking their time” in reacting. There are currently 10 open
instancias, including the one that had been submitted twice. The oldest dates back to
2015!
The subject of electricity boxes and electricity lines (overhanging branches) was raised
again. Open electricity boxes are the responsibility of the owner; appropriate keys can be
obtained from the ferreteria.
Regarding overhanging branches on electricity lines – the responsibility for removing the
branches lies with the owner if the lines are above/directly next to the owner’s property.
The point was raised regarding waste material/basura on empty plots. Again it is the
responsibility of the owner of the plot to mitigate any fire hazard by ensuring that rubbish
is cleared.
7. Other points:
a) Neighbourhood cats
Currently too hot to continue the process of spading. Furthermore, several of the cats
are in the process of having kittens so it had been decided to temporarily halt the spading
process. There is still 100 Euro credit at the vets.
b) Delayed AGM:
Proposed date unchanged -namely Friday 26 November 2021, Covid regulations
permitting. Members will be kept up to date. To be discussed/confirmed at next
committee meeting.
c) Summer party (Fiesta):
It was noted that there was no official requirement to cancel/postpone the party on
account of Covid. There exist, however, strong advisory notes regarding behavior at
events. It was agreed that a note be sent to all attendees of the party outlining the safety
measures that should be adhered to during the evening. This note would be drafted by
PvO and prepared/sent by Mel and Anne - Spanish and English.
Known procedure regarding food selection was repeated. Lottery gifts to be provided by golf
club. There were 68 confirmed attendees, including 3 guests.
7.) Next Meeting
6th September – 11.30 – Golf and Country Club
Meeting ended. 13.00
