Minutes of Committee Members Meeting Altea la Vella 07 February 2022. The Meeting took place at the Golf and Country Club, Altea la Vieja at 11.35, attended by the members of the committee: Present were: Annette Eberhardt ( president), Richard Kent, Anne Vanderborne, Nellie Lozano, Boudewijn Overduijn, Francisco Jerry Gomis, Angela Heran, Miguel Devesa, Ellis de Jong. Apologies for absence: Willem v Oorde,Toni Canet, Ismael Fernandez, Lisa Andretti, Wolfgang Fischer. The meeting was conducted in English. The minutes were taken by the president in shorthand and written up by W v Oorde. 1. Minutes of Meeting of 3rd January 2022 were approved 2. Treasurer’s Report: a. Current Account: 3. Secretary’s Report: a. There are currently 301 members. Since last reported 4 members have left the Sierra and I member has passed away. 4. Neighbourhood Watch and website. NHW: Many reports of break-ins and suspicious activities. No further details at this point of the individual incidences. It was discussed, and decided, to obtain a quote for 100 signs, that individual members would be able to purchase from the Association and erect, where appropriate, on their property. The signs would state “area vigilada con camaras”. Ellis agreed to approach the “Ring Bell Company” for said offer. Cost estimate - Euro 50 per unit, which sum members would be required to pay on receipt of a sign. 5. Instancias: Two points mentioned in Wolfgang’s absence: The area known as the “island” (Calle Denia, Av Sella etc): Rubbish mounds have been removed/cleared. Av. Principal: Ayuntamiento has carried out a street painting job – namely the white lines denoting parking areas etc – have been repainted. 6. Other points: a) Neighbourhood cats Nellie advised the committee that she had recently captured a pregnant cat and that she intends to capture further cats on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Food has already been placed. She noted that the Altea Town Hall had advised that they had budgeted 13 000 to 14.000 Euros funds for cats for the whole of Altea. b) AGM: Request to Wolfgang to circulate the final (official) powerpoint presentation. (Note from W v.O - Annette has acknowledged that she already received the version. W v O also in possession of final version and can be forwarded upon request). c) Newsletter: No action points. d) 2022 Summer party - reconfirmed that the party will be held (Covid regulations permitting) on Friday 24 June at the Jacaranda restaurant. Annette remarked that the day (night) was special in the annual calendar – namely “Noche de San Juan”. It would therefore be appropriate to give the occasion a special “Spanish Night” theme. This could entail tapas, flamenco dancer/s, and a small bonfire, upon which guests could, should they wish, place – and burn – individual slips of paper upon which they had noted their “life’s wishes”. With regard to music, it was suggested that “Julia”- apparently a well-known (TV) solo singer be engaged to perform, as well as a Flamenco duo – both subject to cost estimate. Annette also proposed that attendees should attempt to include the colours black and yellow in their clothing, in recognition of the colours of the Spanish flag. e) Proposed “Meet the Vecinos” monthly event at the Jacaranda. As at 7th February there were 31 acceptances for the first such event – to be held during the late afternoon at the Jacaranda restaurant. It was noted that our Association (its committee) was currently the only one organising such an event. It was suggested that the neighbouring “Urlissa” Association could be invited to the following Monday event. The invitation would need to explain background, purpose etc and to confirm that any associated food and drink costs to be borne by individual members attending the event. With regards to the event of 7th February, it was noted that – for this day’s event only – attendees would be offered one tapa (prawn in curry sauce to the value of Euro 3) as a welcome gesture; this for the account of the Association. In addition, the restaurant (Sidhu) would offer a glass of cava and one tapa to each attendee. f) Point omitted from minutes of January meeting attended by Anne, Richard and Annette: updated (AGM agreed) list of committee members to be forwarded to Terry for posting on the website. 7) Next Meeting 07 March 2022 – 11.30 – Golf and Country Club, Covid permitting, and….our second “meet the Members”meeting on same day at 17.00 at the Jacaranda restaurant.
