Altea la Vella 07 March 2022.
The Meeting took place at the Golf and Country Club, Altea la Vieja at 11.30,
attended by the members of the committee:

Overduin, Francisco Javier Gomez, Angela Herran, Nellie Lozano.
The meeting was conducted in English. The minutes were taken by W v Oorde.
1. Minutes of Meeting of 7th February 2022 were approved
2. Treasurer’s Report:
a. Current Account: The Treasurer noted that the higher amount
(compared to the previous month) was a result of payments received in respect of
the annual buzon fees. The Treasurer also noted that a payment still had to made in
respect of cleaning the buzones location.
3. Secretary’s Report:
a. There are currently 305 members, a net increase of 4. During the period one
member had passed away, but the family chose to retain membership.
4. Neighbourhood Watch and website.
In respect of the website, it was noted that the list of current board
members (approved at the Annual General Meeting) had not yet been
uploaded. Annette undertook to follow up with the webmaster.
NHW: It was noted that there continues to be reports of multiple break-
ins and suspicious activities (5 in the previous weekend) - a worrying
upward
trend that shows no sign of reversing. The Board
emphasises the need (and again,
implores all affected members) to act
swiftly and comprehensively on discovering
that their property had
become the object of a break-in/attempted break-in -
namely, advise
the Guardia Civil and submit a “denuncia” (official report). The
authorities are powerless without the formal notification of the
crime. The
Committee is willing to assist if they are also notified in
good time.
It was noted that the Committee had again requested the Town Hall to
be
proactive in dealing with the issue, that after all, affects the
attractiveness of the
Sierras. The Town Hall had advised that they had
submitted a quote request for 4
new camera systems – one for El
Paradiso and 3 for the Sierras.
Members should also be reminded that a Neighbourhood Watch App is
in operation and should contact a committee member if they require
assistance in joining the group.
5. Instancias: Wolfgang advised the committee that a new member had recently
approached Toni Canet, notifying him of a potentially hazardous situation in a
location not far from the Aprobersa facility - namely a large stack of old (probably
asbestos lined) tubes and pipes that had been left to rot in a pile. Wolfgang agreed
to submit a new instancia.
Wolfgang further reported that 3 instancias had now been closed and that one was
still open concerning speed limit warning signs.
6. Other points:
a) Neighbourhood cats: it was reported that during the period one additional cat
been sterilised.
b) First Neighbourhood meeting at the Golf and Country Club held on February
7th in the afternoon was deemed to have been a great success. In total there were
40 attendees. Second event to be held on 7th March. It was expected that there
would be 21 attendees, including some residents of the Urlissa Urb. It was noted
that no drinks would be “on the house” on this occasion.
c) Newsletter - Points for inclusion were discussed. Next edition would be shortly
available
d) 2022 Summer party - date now changed - and confirmed – for July 1st (Friday).
Reason for postponement was noted as being the desire not to have to force
members to chose between the summer party and the annual festive evening event
- “Noche de San Juan”. Details/arrangements will be discussed later.
e) Wine tasting event - this has been postponed to May 2nd at 5 pm. If there are
sufficient number of attendees, a bus would be arranged - cost circa 5 or 6 Euros
per head for the transport.
